ABOUT
Contralto Katherine Nägele-Lin is passionate about singing in many genres. She made her solo recital debut this year with Arbor Culture, a tree-themed recital/lecture in partnership with the tree nonprofit Canopy, for which she also composed two art songs. She was a semifinalist in the 2023 CS Vocal Competition and a recipient of CS Music's Certified Artist Award. On the opera stage, she has appeared with West Bay Opera as the Maestra delle novizie in Puccini's Suor Angelica (2017) and in several choruses. In December she will make her oratorio debut as the alto soloist in Vivaldi's Gloria with the choir of St. Joseph of Cupertino. She is also a choral and liturgical singer, having appeared with Volti, Convivium, and the San Francisco Choral Artists and at numerous Bay Area churches. She holds a B.A. in music from the University of Southern California and a Master of Forestry from U.C. Berkeley. In addition to singing, Katherine has a private arboricultural consulting practice.
